Sorry if the guide was to noobish, or if there are some typeos, but I was sleepy when I wrote this. And those files that werent overwriten where the files needed to run Metro 2033. The NVIDIA didn't delete all the old PhysX files, it just overwrite SOME of the files (not all), to just improve PhysX, and not to reinstall it completly.

I believe that software is the issue as the 'blackscreens' only happen in certain games (mostly Overwatch and Valorant) while Metro 2033, Bioshock (all games), and Destiney 2 run just fine.

It's because the previous PhysX driver didn't have some of the files that where in the Metro 2033 PhysX installation exe, simply what we did was, uninstall the whole PhysX from your PC, then installated the old Metro 2033 PhysX Driver, and the overwrite it with the new NVIDIA drivers. My computer keeps doing this weird thing where my monitor goes black and I hear 'looped audio' through my headphones.

You will notice that the game still works, even if you have the latest drivers and it didnt work previously.

Or if you like to tidy up things, you can re-download your video driver, or an updated driver (doesnt matter), and install it ( The whole driver, not the PhysX only), and then restart the computer. If your angry at the game developers because the game is not working, you may now go and play the game, because it will work, if your system is good enough. In that folder, you will see: PhysX_10.02.22_SystemSoftware.exe Wait for it to uninstall, then when it's finnished, go to your Metro 2033 game files, and there is a folder called /install, go in there (to get to the game files, google it!!).ģ. You need to uninstall the current PhysX version from your computer, now before you start screaming and uninstalling your whole video driver, go to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programms, and remove ->ONLY<- your NVIDIA PhysX Software, nothing else.Ģ. When you have the hissing sound of mutant spiders or other. You basically have to rely on any nearby light sources or your own to see anything. It is especially thrilling to play in dark areas. Special K installed as d3d9.dll will often end up silently crashing the game on launch. Shows just how amazing looking the game is. Metro 2033 Redux, Missing geometry (disable tessellation to fix). I've heard from other people that having Physx on is what was causing issues for them. Played a little Metro Exodus last night and it is not from any cutscene. I ran exodus, gears 4 & 5, final fantasy 14, 3DMark, unigine heaven and valley all at max settings with no issues whatsoever but metro last light redux crashes on startup. And now I literally cannot even get to the loading scene of the game, let alone even the main menu before it just freezes and I have to restart my computer. Made it like 3/4 through the game and I decided I was gonna work out why its crashing and fix it. After I beat it I moved to last light and same story. Started with 2033 and I could play for an hour or a couple hours at a time before it would crash the computer to to my desktop and I had to restart the game. I am pretty much new to pc gaming, but my first pc less than a month ago and recently started playing the metro games through Xbox game pass on my pc.
